Margaret River Shorts now has the Top Twenty Films to be screened and eligible for prizes.
We have some awesome things happening in the festival very much including our 3 judges. Check them out here. Richard Sowada – Head of Programs at ACMI and founder of Revelation Film Festival. From Fremantle, Robert Castiglione renowned Australian film maker and of course the venerable and Margaret River’s very own Richard Todd of Aquarius Productions, who has judged the festival for 4 years.
Our application for exemption from classification is currently being processed however we are aiming for an exemption equivalent to an MA15+ rating. For more information on the content you will see at Margaret River Shorts 2011 Go Here
We are extremely excited to have Erick Love Lindqvist from Andante Film is flying all the way from Sweden to attend the festival, director of the film Stagdata, a West Australian Premiere.
Alexander Moir, director of “The Last Stand” is having the Australian Premiere at Colonial Margaret River Shorts and we are honoured that he will be attending.
Denise Groves, director of “Amy goes to Wadjemup Island” – one of only 3 films selected eligible for the Best Southwest Film, will be in attendance and hopefully will be speaking at the event.
Gemma Parsons, director of “2506″ will be in attendance all the way from Sydney. We are extremely excited and proud to have her at the festival as we are of all our film maker guests, sponsors and all the people who have supported Colonial Margaret River Shorts.
Ruslan Kulski from ABC Open will be speaking on Saturday night on community storytelling through film.
On Saturday Night there will be a screening of the films MC’d by Brad Fergusson – Festival Director and live music (tbc.).
On Sunday Night there will be a screening of the films and the Awards Presentation including $10000 Cash in prizes, beautiful glasswork trophies from Pete Reynolds, live skype calls to the audience from director’s around the world, MC’d by Brad Fergusson – Festival Director.
